LEGAL PROGRAM

Civil liberties include the right to due process and equal protection of the law, as well as freedom of expression; freedom of the press; religious freedom; the right of association; the right of privacy; the right to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures, and the right to be free of cruel and unusual punishment.

If you would like the ACLU of Idaho to review your case, please fill out and submit one of our online intake forms or call (208) 344-9750 and leave your name and mailing address so we can send you the appropriate form.  Before submitting an intake form, please review the following guidelines:

  • The ACLU of Idaho can only review cases in writing.
  • The ACLU of Idaho does not have legal staff to answer the phone personally, to see people on a walk-in basis, or to give legal advice over the phone or by email.
  • The ACLU of Idaho is unable to assist people in emergency situations. If your complaint has any time constraints, please do not wait to hear from us before taking other action.

Intake processing can take between two to three weeks, so your patience is appreciated.  When your complaint has been reviewed, we will respond to you in writing.
