2017 Activist Academy

January 14, 2017 @ 9:00 am
January 15, 2017 @ 2:45 pm
The Idaho Statehouse is the people’s house. In order to know how to effectively get your voice heard, the ACLU of Idaho is hosting a day-long training to provide you the skills to be a successful activist at the Capitol this legislative session. Applications are due on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016 at 5pm.

The training will consist of information and tips on power analysis and community organizing. The morning will give participants a basis of knowledge on the fundamentals of power structures and how you can use them to create your own movement of decision makers. The afternoon will give participants a chance to delve into a specific way to address the power structures, then everyone will come together to review the material. The ACLU of Idaho and YOU are needed to keep fighting to preserve and promote our civil liberties in Idaho. Come and learn from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Idaho Statehouse on Saturday, January 14th 2017

We encourage people from out of the Treasure Valley area to apply. The application has a space to request scholarship funds, and we also encourage applicants to crowd-fund or fundraise as they see fit in order to solidify their attendance. The ACLU of Idaho believes this training is valuable to anyone in Idaho who wants to work to create change, or protect the civil liberties that already exist in our state.
