HB 124 (formerly HB 54) is an attempt to completely remove the ability to use a student ID as a form of identification at the polls. The legislation was presented on the myths and false information that voter fraud is being committed based on how students are exercising their right to vote.

Voter ID laws like this one reduce voter turnout, impact particular communities, including those that are low-income or rural and those that are of communities of color. Students have the right to register and vote in the community where they attend college and university if they so choose.
