SB 1030 marks the 15th year that legislation has been introduced to bring long overdue protections for Idaho’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by adding “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” to Idaho’s Human Rights Act. This bill would prevent LGBTQ Idahoans from facing further discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. By amending the Idaho Human Rights Act, we can ensure that all Idahoans are treated equally under the law and can continue to contribute to our economy and local businesses without fear of discrimination while participating in public life.
