This bill would ban abortion at 6-weeks and would allow "the father of the preborn child, a grandparent of the preborn child, a sibling of the preborn child, or an aunt or uncle of the preborn child" to sue the doctor who performed the abortion.

This bill would ban abortion at 6-weeks and would allow "the father of the preborn child, a grandparent of the preborn child, a sibling of the preborn child, or an aunt or uncle of the preborn child" to sue the doctor who performed the abortion. If successful, the relative would be able to collect $20,000 for each abortion, paid by the abortion provider.

We are facing a truly unprecedented moment for abortion access and reproductive rights. The Supreme Court has repeatedly turned its back on Texans, allowing politicians to strip the right to abortion away from millions of people. This bill would do the same in Idaho. Today, there is no abortion care available in Texas after six weeks of pregnancy and our state could quickly follow suit.
