Once again, the Idaho legislature has reintroduced legislation that would criminalize gender affirming care for youth under the age 18.

HB 71, Ban on Gender Affirming Care is attempts to criminalize medical providers for 10 years for providing and seeking lifesaving care for their youth. This bill not only displays a fundamental ignorance about medical care for transgender youth but further undermines the parents right to guide the health care of their children.

This bill violates the constitutional rights of Idaho adolescents, their parents and their doctors, and poses unprecedented threat to parents and families.
