This bill replaced House Bill 572.

This is an extreme attempt to restrict youth’s protected rights to expression that would prohibit “secretive” social transitioning.

It would force trusted adults to out children or face steep legal penalties. The bill’s excessively broad definition of “social transition” includes changes in someone's name, pronouns, appearance, or dress, which could result in invasive policing of youths’ self-expression.
