This bill was originally expanding on Idaho’s “don’t say gay” law passed in 2025 by mandating a categorical K-12 ban on discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity without any standards-based modifier, such as age appropriateness.
However, late in the session, lawmakers utilized a rare procedural move to “radiator cap” the bill and instead pass a prohibition on taxpayer funding of teachers' unions.
