An Idaho law criminalizing gender-affirming health care for transgender youth is being challenged by families in federal court.

Federal district court Judge Nye ruled that a transgender athlete’s lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Idaho’s law—HB 500—is not moot, meaning the case may proceed while the law remains blocked.

Today the House State Affairs Committee sent House Bill 675, a bill that would criminalize medical professionals who provide treatment and care for transgender youth, to the Idaho House of Representatives with a “do pass” recommendation.
